The creative idea and the talented team behind this unique exhibition come from Tabakfabrik Linz. More precisely, from <a href=\"https:\/\/ars.electronica.art\/solutions\/en\/gasometer-oberhausen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ars Electronica Solutions (AES)<\/a>, one of the first tenants in this innovation hotspot.  <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The idea for &#8220;The Wave&#8221; was born at Tabakfabrik in early 2023. The team (led by project manager Ina Badics) developed an immersive experience that takes visitors virtually under the surface of the water. The exhibition opened in March 2024. Since then, more than one million visitors have seen &#8220;The Wave&#8221;.   <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--xl)\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 20%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-h2-small has-behrensblau-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-0f9d436579ee6a3223f3da757803a45f\">Lifelike on 1,200 square meters<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The installation shows lifelike animations of the underwater world on 1,200 square meters and requires a room that is at least 100 meters high and can be completely darkened. The wave was therefore customized for the Gasometer Oberhausen by the Linz AES team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Our projection surface consists of a 40-metre-high vertical wall and a translucent horizontal screen, which is projected onto by seven projectors. These were carried out in the Tabakfabrik. The studios for this are located on the third floor of the CASABLANCA building and in the Artist Space in the FALK building.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This immersive experience will be available in Linz in the future. AES is currently working on &#8220;Deep Sea&#8221;, an adaptation of the installation &#8220;The Wave&#8221; specially adapted for Deep Space at the <a href=\"https:\/\/ars.electronica.art\/solutions\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ars Electronica Center (AEC<\/a> ). The technology served as a tool to realize the artistic vision. The music complements the visual elements and creates an independent level of perception.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-h2-small has-behrensblau-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-2afa73beb8975ab45a726c30c46ccb58\" style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--s-2)\">Great feedback from the client<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;From the initial planning to the final implementation of our joint immersive project &#8216;The Wave&#8217; for the &#8216;Planet Ocean&#8217; exhibition in the Gasometer Oberhausen, the <strong>Ars Electronica Solutions team impressed not only with their creativity, but also with their professionalism and commitment.<\/strong> Visions were transformed into a tangible concept. The subsequent planning and implementation was characterized by good technical expertise and went smoothly and without complications. <strong>That&#8217;s why one thing is certain for us: Ars There is a memorial plaque in their honor at Tabakfabrik, which was unveiled on the second of May 2002. Tabakfabrik was the first company in Linz to honor employees who died in resistance to the Nazi regime in this way.
